The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels made a minor trade on Thursday, as New York sent left-handed reliever Jayvien Sandridge to Los Angeles in exchange for cash considerations.Â
Sandridge was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Tuesday. His Major League debut was short-lived, lasting just two-thirds of an inning on July 5 against the New York Mets. His minor league work wasn’t much better, posting a 4.55 ERA in 31.2 Triple-A innings. However, Sandridge managed to record 47 strikeouts in those 34 appearances.Â
He joins Kaleb Ort as the second former Yankees pitcher to join the Angels organization this week. Los Angeles scooped Ort off waivers from the Yankees on Wednesday.Â
The state of the Yankees’ bullpenÂ
Despite a slow offseason, the Yankees have made multiple additions to their bullpen. Though none of the new names are veterans.Â
Cade Winquest was selected in the Rule 5 Draft, Angel Chivilli was acquired from the Colorado Rockies yesterday, and Dom Hamel was claimed off waivers from the Texas Rangers.Â
New York also re-signed Ryan Yarbrough, Paul Blackburn, and Tim Hill.Â
