UMass Lowell baseball head coach Nick Barese has announced the promotion of Dan Cellucci to associate head coach, acknowledging his dedication to the overall recruiting process and player growth upon joining the baseball program’s staff in 2024.

“Dan has done an incredible job since joining the staff and has certainly earned this promotion,” said Barese. “His impact can be felt up and down our roster from an on and off the field standpoint. I look forward to watching Dan continue to develop our position players and help take our program to the next level.”

In his first year at UMass Lowell, Cellucci was a beneficial part to the program’s success, as the River Hawks developed seven All-Conference honorees in the 2024 season and advanced to their third-straight postseason appearance.

Cellucci’s primary responsibilities at UMass Lowell involve improving and developing the organization, and planning and executing all recruiting operations. He’s installed new offensive approaches, helping lead to the improvement for both individual and team development, along with creating advanced scouting reports when necessary.

“I am thrilled to continue working with this group of guys every single day in Lowell,” said Cellucci. “The future is so bright here, and being able to contribute to the development and growth of these student-athletes, this program, and this university is an honor and a privilege. I could not be more thankful.”
