On Wednesday, the Astros officially announced their minor league staffs for the 2026 season. Below are some notes on the staff.
Mickey Storey returns to Sugar Land for his 6th season with the club. He also brings back pitching coach Sean Buchanan. Sugar Land did add a new hitting coach, Drew Saylor, who was in the Royals system in 2025. Wladimir Sutil returns as the development coach.
Ricky Rivera returns to Corpus Christi for his second season managing the Double-A club. Bobby Bell returns as the hitting coach. Zach Wilkins gets a promotion from High-A to Double-A to be the pitching coach for the Hooks in 2026.
More consistency here. Nate Shaver returns as trhe manager for his 4th season. TJ Burgmann is also returning as the hitting coach. The Astros did add a new pitching coach, Craig Prince, who was the pitching coach for Eastern Michigan the previous two seasons.
Carlos Lugo, who has been in the Astros system since 2014, returns for his second season as the Fayetteville manager. They returned hitting coach James Wiseman but added a new pitching coach in Steve Serratore who was with the Air Force Academy and Bowling Green previously.
