CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Guardians have announced their 2026 internal non-roster invitees for spring training.
The 26-player group includes 18 players from within the Guardians organization and eight free agent signings.
Among the notable names heading to spring training are Travis Bazzana, the first overall selection in the 2024 MLB Draft.
Bazzana will make his first major league spring training appearance after splitting 2025 between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus. The Oregon State product finished the season with a .245 batting average, 17 doubles and 9 home runs while currently ranking as the system’s top prospect according to MLB.com and Baseball America.
Another prospect to watch is Ralphy Velazquez, a first-round pick (23rd overall) from the 2023 draft. The 20-year-old outfielder/first baseman had an impressive 2025 season, leading the Guardians’ system in home runs (22), hits (128), and RBIs (85). Velazquez was promoted to Double-A Akron in August and has been ranked as the system’s third-best prospect by Baseball America.
Alfonsin Rosario, acquired from the Chicago Cubs last November in exchange for right-hander Eli Morgan, is another standout among the invitees. The 21-year-old outfielder split 2025 between High-A Lake County and Double-A Akron, earning Midwest League All-Star honors and ranking among system leaders in home runs (tied for 2nd with 21), total bases (3rd with 200), and extra-base hits (tied for 5th with 46). He’s currently the system’s 24th-ranked prospect according to Baseball America.
On the pitching side, several right-handers caught the eye during the 2025 minor league season. Tommy Mace, a second-round selection from the 2021 draft, finished tied for second in the organization with 11 wins across 30 games split between Akron and Columbus. The 27-year-old also posted the sixth-most innings pitched in the system (115.2) while maintaining a .207 average against—tied for the lowest in the organization.
Trenton Denholm had a strong 2025 campaign, recording an 11-8 record between Triple-A Columbus and Double-A Akron. The 26-year-old right-hander finished third in the Eastern League in ERA (3.77) and innings pitched (126.2), and even competed in the Arizona Fall League, adding to his development before spring training.
Jake Miller, a 20th-round draft pick from 2021, continues to impress with his effectiveness in relief and limited starter roles. The 25-year-old posted a career-high 2.86 ERA across 42 games between Akron and Columbus, striking out 56 batters in 66 innings while allowing just four home runs.
Guardians’ pitcher and catchers report to Goodyear, AZ on Feb. 10, with the first full squad workout set for Feb. 17.
