Texas A&M baseball is gearing up for the 2026 season, and while expectations are modest, the roster is strong enough to make a legitimate push back to postseason play. Regardless of how the year unfolds, one thing feels almost guaranteed: several Aggies on this roster have a real chance to hear their names called in the MLB Draft or work their way into professional baseball soon.
Why the confidence? Because Texas A&M produces professional athletes with the best of them. The program consistently develops top‑tier prospects, and it seems like every few months, another former Aggie is either getting called up, signing a new contract, or making headlines across the baseball world.

Most recently, Braden Montgomery has drawn national attention as the latest Aggie. Earlier this month, he was ranked No. 7 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 10 outfielders list, a strong indicator of how evaluators view his long‑term potential. Then, on Thursday, the Chicago White Sox announced that Montgomery is one of 22 players invited to their spring training camp.
It’s a massive step — one that puts him even closer to reaching the big leagues.
