The Texas Rangers scored five runs while the Chicago White Sox scored four runs.
The Rangers were three outs away from a winless road trip and an unthinkable series sweep at the hands of the White Sox, something the Southsiders hadn’t accomplished all season and enjoyed only twice all of last year.
A three-run rally in the ninth inning prevented the disaster as Texas can return to Arlington with their heads held a centimeter higher, even as they very nearly re-blew it in the bottom of the ninth.
With 54 games in the books, the 2025 MLB season is exactly 1/3rd of the way finished. The Rangers, clearly, have a lot of work to do but at least they weren’t swept this weekend.
Player of the Game: Jake Burger hit a two-run home run and then a ninth inning double that keyed the comeback rally.
Up Next: The Rangers are back home for an early Memorial Day game to open a series against the Blue Jays tomorrow. RHP Jacob deGrom is the probable for Texas in the opener opposite RHP Kevin Gausman for Toronto.
The Monday afternoon first pitch from The Shed is scheduled for 3:05 pm CT and will be carried on the Rangers Sports Network.
