Royals of past, present share thoughts on Kauffman Stadium’s fences moving in

Royals, Pasquantino avoid arbitration with new 2-year deal

  • January 31, 2026

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Following a career year in 2025, the Kansas City Royals have announced that Vinnie Pasquantino has agreed to a new contract.

According to a report from MLB.com’s Anne Rogers, the Royals and Pasquantino have agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $16 million, avoiding arbitration by doing so.

Pasquantino and Royals starting pitcher Kris Bubic were the only two Royals who did not agree to terms with the team prior to the arbitration deadline.

The new deal between Pasquantino and the Royals includes $11 million in guarantees, Rogers reports.

Pasquantino recently shared his thoughts in a now-deleted post on the Royals moving the fences in at Kauffman Stadium for the final five seasons of play, noting he thought “it’s cool the Royals were willing to make these changes to make it more of a neutral ballpark.”

The 28-year-old who enters his fifth season in Kansas City in 2026, had several balls turn into doubles or outs last year that would’ve instead been home runs in the new dimensions.

It comes after Pasquantino tallied a career-high in hits (164), home runs (32), RBI (113) and games played (160) during the 2025 season.
