The Athletics locked up another one of their homegrown stars.
All-Star shortstop Jacob Wilson and the A’s agreed to a seven-year contract extension on Friday, the team officially announced after ESPN’s Jeff Passan first reported the news.
The contract is for $70 million, Passan reported, citing sources.

The contract includes an eighth-year club option for the 2033 MLB sreason.
Wilson, who was an American League All-Star last season, batted .311/.355/.444 with 13 home runs, 63 RBI and a 121 OPS+ in 125 games.
The 23-year-old finished second to teammate Nick Kurtz in the AL Rookie of the Year voting.
Following the agreement with Wilson, the A’s now have locked up two of their young stars to long-term deals, after signing outfielder/first baseman Tyler Soderstrom to a seven-year, $86 million contract extension in December.
