He also finished with 118 RBIs, the fourth-highest total of any MLB player.Despite this, Suárez showed some occasional weaknesses in getting on base, and finished the 2025 season as the American League leader for strikeouts, as well as with a relatively typical batting average of .228.Suárez returns to Cincinnati after having previously spent seven seasons with the Reds between 2015 and 2021, the longest stretch of time by far that he has been on any one team.Before this, he made his professional debut in 2014 with the Detroit Tigers after working his way up through the Tigers’ minor league affiliate teams.The reported addition comes as Reds Spring Training is set to get underway in two weeks, with position players set to report on Feb. 14.Meanwhile, it also comes as the start to the 2026 MLB season is now less than two months away, with Reds Opening Day scheduled for March 26 at Great American Ball Park.
