Oregon and Oregon State to Host NCAA Regional

EUGENE, Ore- Both the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers baseball teams get to begin their respective roads to the College World Series on their home fields.

On Sunday, both Eugene and Corvallis were announced as NCAA Regional host sites, giving both the Ducks and the Beavers a home field advantage as they look to make a run in the postseason. The Ducks will take the field at PK Park on Friday to kick off regional play. After a quarterfinal exit in the Big Ten Conference Tournament, where No. 1 seeded Oregon fell to No. 8 seed Nebraska, the Ducks will be playing with something to prove.

Oregon has now qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive year, all under head coach Mark Wasikowski. Since baseball’s return to Oregon in 2009, the Ducks have been selected for the tournament 10 times. This current five-year streak is the longest in the program’s history.

Like the Ducks, Oregon State also earned the right to host a regional. The Beavers boast an impressive 41-12-1 record, which includes a 17-2 mark at home. With just two losses at home, playing at Goss Stadium is sure to give OSU a home field advantage. This marks the 13th time Oregon State will host a regional, and the 11th since 2005. At home in NCAA Regional matchups, the Beavers have been nearly unstoppable with a 30-7 record.

With both teams hosting, the state of Oregon becomes one of the few regions in the country with multiple NCAA baseball regional sites.

Both the Ducks and Beavers will learn their seeding and what three other teams will make up their respective regionals when the bracket is released on the selection show starting Monday morning at 9 a.m. on ESPN2.
