SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Mariners acquired All-Star Brendan Donovan from the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-way team trade that also involved the Tampa Bay Rays.Â
Donovan, was an All-Star last season after batting .287 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs. Seattle sent right-handed pitching prospect Jurrangelo Cijnte and outfielder Tai Peete to St. Louis along with a competitive-balance draft pick, and third baseman Ben Williamson to Tampa Bay.Â
The trade adds a veteran bat and defensive flexibility to Seattle’s roster as they prepare for the 2026 season.Â
