The Philadelphia Phillies have been trying to trade away Alec Bohm for a few years now, but haven’t found any takers in the last few offseasons.

After falling short of Bo Bichette, Bohm’s future with the team, at least for 2026, seemed certain. But, there is one scenario in which Bohm could be traded, and ESPN’s Eric Karabell is predicting that such a situation will happen.

Karabell is predicting that the Phillies trade Bohm to the Chicago White Sox in the wake of top prospect Aidan Miller making his MLB debut for the Phillies and taking over at third base by Memorial Day.

Phillies get big Alec Bohm, Aidan Miller prediction that fans would love

“Aidan Miller (No. 10) will earn the Phillies’ 3B job by Memorial Day and win NL Rookie of the Year,” Karabell predicts. “When Bohm struggles again this May, Miller steps in, hits .280 with 20 home runs and 25 steals the rest of the way, and the Phillies trade Bohm to the White Sox.”

This two-part prediction from Karabell would be a dream scenario for many Phillies fans. Those who’ve been hoping Bohm would get traded would love this prediction to come true.

But, even if there are fans who don’t want to ditch Bohm, if this prediction were the reason why they trade him away, it would be a near-perfect scenario.

Not only would the Phillies recoup even a little value from trading Bohm, but they would get Miller, their top prospect, to make his MLB debut and be an instant-impact batter.

Miller is the future of the position anyway, and seeing him make his MLB debut in 2026 and take over third base for the foreseeable future would be a dream-like scenario for the Phillies.

The Phillies might lose experience in this prediction, but Miller proving he’s a star in the Major Leagues would be more than the Phillies could ask for.

Swapping Bohm for Miller is the future of the franchise, and doing so as early as Memorial Day in 2026 would be a great sign for the Phillies going forward.
