The 2025-2026 offseason has been a very eventful one for the Texas Rangers, to say the very least.

So, the unofficial captain of the first World Series team in franchise history, Marcus Semien, was moved to the New York Mets in exchange for Brandon Nimmo.

Fellow World Series heroes Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim were non-tendered and will be playing elsewhere in 2026.

In the bullpen, the likes of Shawn Armstrong, Jacob Webb, Hoby Milner, and Phil Maton will also have new homes this season after contributing to a unit that produced the fourth-best bullpen ERA in all of baseball.

On the additions front, the Rangers struck a blockbuster trade to land All-Star starter MacKenzie Gore from the Washington Nationals, as they look to continue the success of their rotation from that season, which was the best in the league.

Additionally, for the second straight winter, the Rangers have had to rebuild the bullpen, bringing in Tyler Alexander, Alexis Diaz, and Jakob Junis, amongst others.

Sitting exactly one week away from pitchers and catchers reporting, we know that everyone loves a little last-minute shopping.

Let’s break down some last-minute shopping that the Texas Rangers could do to upgrade their team before they make the trip to Surprise, Ariz.

First, it’s important to establish what is already implied, and that is the fact that the Rangers are mostly done making moves this offseason.

We’ve seen Texas fill holes in right field, the starting rotation, the bullpen, and decide to fill the void left at second base via internal options.

Not to mention that the Rangers’ offseason strategy as a whole has been to not spend huge dollars at the top of the market.

With that being said, there are still some moves that the Rangers could make to improve their team for 2026.

For starters, adding a right-handed bench bat would be a realistic-yet-effective way Texas could slightly upgrade its team.

Reportedly, the Rangers are interested in Miguel Andujar, who hit .359 in 34 games after being traded to the Cincinnati Reds last season.

However, the Rangers are certainly not the only suitor for Andujar’s services, which could drive up the price a little bit.

Even if Texas can’t land Andujar, there are other options still available in free agency that they could explore.

As far as the bullpen goes, we may see the Rangers add another bullpen arm, as we know Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young says you can “never have enough pitching.”

However, you would have to assume that the majority, if not all, of the Rangers’ 2026 bullpen that will open the season is already in-house.
