Under 81.5 wins: -115

Giants Win Total Prediction 2026

Given the recent history of the Giants, this MLB betting win total is likely fair. However, I lean toward the over being more plausible than the under in 2026.

The Giants have hovered around .500 for four consecutive seasons, finishing 81-81 for the second time during that stretch in 2025. That said, the Giants could be taking steps in the right direction to post their first winning season since 2021.

For one, the Giants finally landed a marquee player after years of getting outbid in free agency.

They made a blockbuster trade for Rafael Devers last summer, and he posted a 1.9 bWAR in 90 games with the Giants. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s even better this year now that he’s further removed from the shocking trade and any fallout with his former team.

San Francisco has assembled a solid core group of hitters, including shortstop Willy Adames, third baseman Matt Chapman, right fielder Jung Hoo Lee, and left fielder Heliot Ramos. According to RosterResource on FanGraphs, the Giants’ batters rank 10th in MLB in projected WAR for the upcoming season.

The primary limitation to the Giants’ upside is their rotation. Logan Webb is a trustworthy leader at the top of the rotation, but there are more question marks after that. San Francisco is counting on Tyler Mahle and Adrian House after adding both starters in free agency.

Of course, one of the biggest unknowns about the Giants’ upcoming season is their first-year manager. Tony Vitello takes over the team from the collegiate ranks, becoming the first college coach to move directly to the majors without previous pro experience.

I tend to believe the game has evolved enough for a former college coach to find success in the majors, but it’s certainly a storyline worth monitoring in 2026. If Vitello is up to the challenge, the Giants could break their recent run of .500 ball.
