LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) – KU baseball took a big step in the right direction last spring. After a tiny taste of postseason baseball, the Jayhawks are hungry for more in 2026.
“Obviously going 0-2 in the regional doesn’t sit very well,” junior pitcher Dominic Voegele said. “I’d say it pushes us hard this year to make it even further.”
“We’re all ready to go out there and compete,” infielder Dariel Osoria said. “That probably makes it better. We’re more agile, we have more speed….just going out and competing is what we’re all looking forward to.”
Kansas baseball begins it’s season on Feb. 13 against UTRGV in Edinburg, Texas.
KU softball didn’t have as strong of a 2025 season, finishing below .500. But with 9 new pitchers in tow, the Jayhawks are hoping for a more competitive spring.
“These first couple of preseason tournaments are just about figuring out some roles, especially with our pitching staff,” head coach Jennifer McFalls said. “I think we have a pretty good idea of what that’s going to look like. It’s exciting. We’re ready to go.”
Kansas softball starts play on Feb. 6 against Bethune-Cookman in Tampa, Florida. The Jayhawks will play 5 games in a 3 day stretch to begin their season.
