The Brewers have signed former Angels first-round pick Jordyn Adams in free agency
It’s been a bit of a depressing offseason for the Milwaukee Brewers, as financial limitations have forced them to shed talent ahead of the 2026 campaign. Still, the Brewers have a deep roster at their disposal as the new season draws near, and the expectation is that they will once again contend for the top spot in the National League Central when they return to action.
Milwaukee is known for its ability to unearth diamonds in the rough, and it will be looking to do so once again in 2026. With Spring Training quickly approaching, the Brewers have decided to take a flier on Jordyn Adams, an outfielder who was formerly a first-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels.
Brewers Sign Jordyn Adams in Free Agency
Free agent news: Jordyn Adams, who was supposed to be a great wide receiver at UNC then chose baseball, has a deal with Milwaukee.
Adams was selected by Los Angeles with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, with the hope being that he could become a staple of its outfield for years to come. And yet, Adams has never managed to find his footing during his limited time in the majors, which is why he was even available in the first place.
Through 38 career games with the Angels and Baltimore Orioles, who he spent the 2025 campaign with, Adams has just a .165 batting average with one home run and five RBIs to his name. While he has upside, Adams simply has not been good enough when he’s been in the majors to earn himself more at-bats for whatever team he is playing for.
Now, he’ll get a shot with the Brewers, who are renowned for getting the most out of their players. While the full details of the deal were not reported, the assumption is that Adams has signed a minor-league deal, and if all goes according to plan, the team is hoping to see him potentially contribute later in the season after taking some time to get back on track in the minors.

Brewers Still Working on Retooling Roster Ahead of 2026 Campaign

After making it all the way to the NLCS last season, it’s been tough to see Milwaukee endure the sort of offseason it has put together to this point. Again, this team should remain competitive, but they weren’t on the same level as the Los Angeles Dodgers when they got swept out of the postseason last year, and it’s tough to say the team is in a better spot than it was at this time in 2025.
And yet, the Brewers always seem to find a way to keep itself in the thick of things throughout the MLB season. Even with the Chicago Cubs making some upgrades this offseason, the expectation is that the NL Central still will run through Milwaukee when all is said and done. If the team can get any sort of contributions from Adams, that could help them achieve their goal of winning the division for the fourth-straight year.
