ALL RIGHT, SO IT’S NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY, AND THE REDS ARE HONORING YOUNG FEMALE ATHLETES IN OUR AREA, HOSTING A GROUP OF HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL PLAYERS AT GREAT AMERICAN BALLPARK. THE REDS INVITING 30 YOUNG ATHLETES FROM THEIR YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, RECOGNIZING THEM FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS, PASSION, AND DEDICATION. THE NIGHT WAS COMPLETE WITH A DINNER, SOME DISCUSSIONS, WORKSHOPS, AND THE SPECIAL TOUR OF THE BALLPARK. WE TRIED TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE TOOLS AGAIN ON AND OFF THE FIELD TO BUILD THEMSELVES UP, EMPOWER THEM, BUILD CONFIDENCE. I LOVE HEARING ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES PLAYING SOFTBALL AND ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT, ESPECIALLY IF THEY’RE HAVING A PROFESSIONAL TEAM. NOW THAT I REALLY LOVE.
