The San Diego Padres signed Miguel Andujar to a one-year deal at $4 million.Â
In need of some offensive punch, the San Diego Padres signed Miguel Andujar for the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old right-handed hitter is coming off a great year with the Reds and A’s, where he posted a .822 OPS in 94 games and 321 at-bats.
In particular, with Cincinnati to close the season, Andujar put on a show with the bat. He recorded a .359/.400/.544 batting line with a .944 OPS.

While in New York, with the Yankees, Andujar finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting for the 2018 season. At the age of 23, he put up an 855 OPS. slugging 27 homers and driving in 92 runs. Injuries and offensive issues plagued him after his rookie season as Andujar spent time with the Pirates, A’s, and Reds after New York traded him in 20222.
The native of the Dominican Republic can play multiple positions on the diamond.
He is comfortable at third base and first base and can also play corner outfield. The majority of his experience in the majors is in the outfield, where he has played 190 games. But he also owns 185 games at third base early in his career. His versatility is useful.
The Padres add some offensive firepower at a good rate.
