While fans are still waiting for a sequel to the mid-2000s MVP College Baseball games, they can get the next best thing with MLB The Show 26’s upcoming spring release.
After including eight college baseball programs in last year’s Road to the Show mode, Sony is expanding its college licensing by adding 11 new programs to this year’s game, bringing the total to 19. The new additions include Arkansas, Florida, Stanford, Michigan, Oregon State and North Carolina.
Last year’s game already featured LSU, Tennessee, UCLA, Cal State-Fullerton, South Carolina, TCU, Texas and Vanderbilt. In addition to the new schools, the game has also added licensing for the Men’s College World Series with its full format and bracket.
College baseball has rapidly grown in popularity over the last two seasons, and while that popularity hasn’t created enough market demand for a standalone college baseball video game (yet), players can get their fix with quite a few top program set to be included in the 2026 release of MLB The Show.
