Former Michigan State University and Swan Valley High School star Mitch Jebb received some good news from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates announced that they would invite six non-roster players, including Jebb, to their major league spring training camp, starting Monday, Feb. 16, in Bradenton, Florida.

Jebb, the Pirates’ second-round pick in 2023, played at Double-A Altoona in 2025. He hit .265 with 11 doubles and six triples with 33 stolen bases, 34 RBIs, 55 runs scored and 59 walks in 122 games.

Jebb, 23, ranked second in the Pittsburgh minor-league system in triples, third in walks, four in hits and sixth in stolen bases.

He also was third in the Eastern League in triples and sixth in stolen bases and hits as he made the transition from second base to the outfield.

Jebb, the son of Mark and Kimberly Jebb, was the MLive Saginaw Player of the Year as a junior in 2019 before Covid canceled his senior season. After helping the Vikings reach the state final as a sophomore, Jebb hit .477 with a .574 on-base percentage as a junior with 35 stolen bases as the Vikings went 24-12.
