The Florida State Seminoles are playing at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas for the 2026 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series from February 20-22.

Florida State head coach Link Jarrett talked about the opportunity to play at the Major League ballpark, which is the home of the Texas Rangers.

“I am appreciative of the opportunity to play in a Major League stadium,” Jarrett said. “Our athletes get the chance to play in a place they dream of playing in. It is one of the reasons I am so excited to do this, and I would love to do it again in the future.”

The Seminoles’ head coach also mentioned that he felt like the weekend has a postseason feel to it.

Florida State will play Michigan, Auburn, and Nebraska during the 2026 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series.

A Look at Florida State Pitchers Trey Beard and Wes Mendes

Florida State lost some great pitchers in the offseason, such as Jamie Arnold and Joey Volini.

Jarrett talked about some of the Seminole pitchers who will pitch a lot in Tallahassee this season.

The first pitcher he mentioned was Trey Beard, who transferred to Florida State from Florida Atlantic.

In 2025, Beard was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference pitcher who had 118 strikeouts in 86 innings of work. He also held opposing hitters to a .199 batting average.

“He is very skilled,” Jarrett said. “The more I watch him, the more impressed I get with his pitching. He will factor into our pitching staff in a big way.”

Another pitcher Jarrett talked about was Wes Mendes, who was in the starting rotation for Florida State in 2025.

He had a 5.42 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 78 innings of work. Mendes also put together a 7-3 record for the Seminoles and was on the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list.

“We have seen his stuff continue to trend up,” Jarrett stated regarding Mendes. “The rubber will meet the road for him when it comes to consistently executing.”
