ROCHESTER 9, SYRACUSE 5 / 11 (BOX)
It was something of a bounceback start from Brandon Sproat, who struck out four over five innings. He still allowed seven hits though, and Syracuse was unable to make the lead he left with stand up. The game went to extras, with each team trading runs in the tenth. The Red Wings blew things open in the 11th though, scoring five to put the game out of reach. On the positive side of the ledger, Ronny Mauricio had two more hits; the peripherals are still pretty scary in terms of O-Swing% and contact quality, but the results have been there so far.

GAME 1: BINGHAMTON 2, RICHMOND / 7 (BOX)
Binghamton’s pitching came through big in game 1. Jack Wenninger and Dylan Ross continued their breakouts, with a scoreless inning from Douglas Orellana sandwiched in between. William Lugo and Alex Ramirez drove in the runs the Rumble Ponies needed in the fourth.

GAME 2: BINGHAMTON 4, RICHMOND 2 / 7 (BOX)
Another great pitching performance in game 2. Luis Moreno gave up two runs in the first, but that was all the Flying Squirrels would get. Ryan Lambert was the standout yet again, striking out three while working around a pair of hits. On the offensive side of things, it was Alex Ramirez coming up big again, driving in three runs and adding a steal for good measure.

GAME 1: BROOKLYN 6, JERSEY SHORE 4 / 7 (BOX)
Brooklyn’s lineup continues to crank – Carson Benge on base four more times, Jesus Baez w/ two hits and three RBI, and a couple of times on base for each of Ewing and Reimer. The pitching and defense was a little rocky, but with hitters performing like this you can cover up some flaws. Benge probably belongs in Binghamton sooner rather than later.

GAME 2: JERSEY SHORE 6, BROOKLYN 4 / 7 (BOX)
Less smooth in game two. Joel Diaz failed to record an out in the fourth, while the offense – led by a home run from Boston Baro – couldn’t make up the deficit. Worse yet, Jacob Reimer left the game after being hit in the forearm by a pitch. For a guy who has struggled with injuries throughout his career, it’s a tough blow; hopefully it’s nothing too serious.

JUPITER 4, ST. LUCIE 3 (BOX)
Corey Collins had a really nice day, and Nick Roselli launched his third homer of the day. That wasn’t enough to uncover a mediocre start from Will Watson and another run allowed by Josh Blum though, and St. Lucie lost a one-run game. Not to worry, Watson still has a 2.78 ERA on the season and looks every part of a rising pitching prospect; keep an eye on him to get to Brooklyn around midseason.
