For the last few seasons, the SF Giants have rolled with the much-maligned slogan, “Nothing Like It.” Very online Giants fans will know that the slogan is used almost exclusively in a sarcastic fashion when the team loses or misses out on a big player.
The slogan even inspired a song from Bay Area rapper LaRussell.
According to Giants insider Alex Pavlovic, the Giants may be retiring the slogan ahead of the 2026 season.
SF Giants may be done with “Nothing Like It” slogan
On the most recent episode of the Giants Talk podcast, Pavlovic responded to a listener question about the slogan by saying:
“It’s my understanding that there’s going to be a new marketing campaign this year…I think it will be revealed probably in late March…I don’t know what they’re doing, but there’s a lot of room for growth.”
We will have to see what the marketing team has in store, but fans will probably still mockingly use “Nothing Like It” whenever the team blows a lead late or fails to sign a big free agent.
The Giants have had some good slogans in the past so maybe bringing one of those ones back would be a good move. Or maybe with the franchise bringing in a new manager it would be more fitting to have something brand new.
At the end of the day, the slogan is not going to change the fact that the Giants have been a purely mediocre team the last four seasons. Hanging around .500 year after year is going to leave everyone a bit unsatisfied so unless that changes then whatever slogan they use will probably be mocked.
There is at least some hope the Giants can turn things around in 2026. They did address basically all of their roster holes this offseason although they had to do it on a budget. It seems like the Giants stayed far away from the deep end of the free agent pool this offseason and instead focused on more affordable, practical additions to raise the floor of the team.
Perhaps that coupled with a fresh coaching staff can change things up enough to get the Giants back in the playoffs. They will need things to go their way playing in a stacked National League West division with both the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers ahead of them.
Maybe a new year and a new slogan is what the team needs to get out of their rut of mediocrity. If the Giants go out and win 90 games or more this season, there would truly be nothing like that.
