After three months of fantasy baseball rankings updates, the final step of the offseason process arrives with Baseball America’s Top 500 Fantasy Baseball Prospects for 2026. Built specifically with dynasty leagues in mind, these rankings aim to blend upside with proximity to big league production.

The foundation for this list was laid early in the offseason, as Baseball America’s prospect team gathered extensive reporting during the annual Prospect Handbook process. That work, which runs through late December, provides a wealth of insight for every ranking across the site.

At its core, this list especially weights hitters’ hit tools, power and speed. For pitchers, BA grades, risk and Stuff+ scores help frame how each arm stacks up.

The goal is to build a road map for your offseason dynasty drafts. It’s important to read this list with the context of your league, team construction and scoring format. Players are in general tiers, which expand in size the further down the board you move. Applying team, league and scoring context might impact whether you prefer a player ranked a few spots behind another. These rankings are more map than gospel.

Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Prospects

1. Konnor Griffin, SS, Pirates

The consensus No. 1 prospect in fantasy baseball, Griffin has a ceiling few prospects in recent memory can match. There’s a real chance Griffin pushes Bobby Witt Jr. as the top shortstop in fantasy baseball within the next three years. BA’s 2025 Minor League Player of the Year has it all: plus-plus raw power, plus-plus speed, a plus hit tool with above-average bat-to-ball skills and advanced swing decisions. Griffin put up historic numbers for a 19-year-old player in his professional debut, hitting .333/.415/.527 with 21 home runs and 65 RBIs. It was a monstrous showing, and Griffin seemed to raise his game for each new level of the minors.

2. Kevin McGonigle, 2B, Tigers

If the minors had public-facing Statcast sliders, McGonigle’s would be bright red. Baseball’s No. 2 prospect has a preternatural feel for contact, resists chasing at a plus level, barrels at a better-than-plus rate and has a 105.3 mph 90th percentile exit velocity, which is higher than Max Clark, Colt Emerson, Jesús Made and JJ Wetherholt. In his age-21 season, he turned those skills into a 215 wRC+ in High-A and a 162 wRC+ in Double-A. Somehow, McGonigle still doesn’t have a reputation as an elite fantasy asset. RoboScout projects a .295 average and .375 OBP at peak with 25+ homers and 5-10 steals. That’s excellent production for a second baseman. Expect McGonigle to debut in the major leagues in 2026 with the type of profile that should avoid long slumps.

3. JJ Wetherholt, SS, Cardinals

After an injury-plagued junior season at West Virginia, we finally got to see Wetherholt’s full breadth of abilities in 2025. The 2024 No. 7 overall pick split his season between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis, hitting .306/.421/.510 with 17 home runs and 23 stolen bases across 109 games. On top of producing power and speed numbers, he had a near-even strikeout-to-walk ratio. Wetherholt began to hit for more power in Triple-A and showed good angles on batted balls at 95 mph or higher. While he makes lots of hard contact, he lacks top-end exit velocities common to power hitters. Wetherholt is a sum-of-his-parts fantasy player who will boost teams in batting average, OBP, power and steals and never hurt them in one category.

4. Trey Yesavage, SP, Blue Jays

If not for his 27.2 postseason innings, where he struck out 12.7 batters per nine innings with a 3.58 ERA in the highest-leverage environments imaginable, Yesavage might rank a few spots lower. This is not merely recency bias, however, as the 22-year-old was a first-round pick and pitches for a championship-caliber team that should provide strong run support and suppress BABIP with its defense. His WHIP may be higher than that of others around him on this list, but given his age and postseason performance, he should be a dynasty anchor for the next decade.

5. Nolan McLean, SP, Mets

A two-way player in college and early in his professional career, McLean has made eye-popping gains since moving to pitching full time. After he posted a 2.45 ERA across 113.2 innings, mostly at Triple-A, McLean continued his dominance over eight starts for the Mets through the final six weeks of the season. His ability to generate whiffs and groundballs gives him multiple avenues to record outs.

6. Jesús Made, SS, Brewers

There’s a little bit of a mystery box element with Made in fantasy because he has tantalizing upside, yet is a few years away. He lived up to the hype in his stateside debut, hitting .285/.379/.413 with 40 extra-base hits and 47 stolen bases. He walked in 12.6% of his plate appearances while striking out just 20.6% of the time. The switch-hitting Made posted nearly identical splits from both sides of the plate and showed no favoritism to either side production-wise, which is a rare trait in switch-hitters. Made showed impressive exit velocity data for an 18-year-old with a 105.2 mph 90th percentile EV in 2025. He has all the traits of a future superstar.

7. Colt Emerson, SS, Mariners

After a slow start to the season where he hit .246/.346/.369 over his first 45 games, Emerson caught fire. From June 1 on, he hit .306/.404/.508, propelling himself to Triple-A by the end of the season. Likely to return to Triple-A Tacoma to begin 2026, Emerson could find himself in the mix in the Mariners’ infield by mid-to-late 2026, making him all the more appealing in fantasy formats of all types. Emerson is an advanced hitter with plus bat-to-ball skills, approach and above-average game power.

8. Walker Jenkins, OF, Twins

The 20-year-old ended the year in Triple-A after putting up a 135 wRC+ across three levels in 2025. Although he has solid exit velocities, especially for his age, Jenkins has never exceeded 10 home runs in a season. Still, based on age-to-level indicators, Jenkins should be a 20-25 home run bat and provide value across all of the roto categories. He should debut in 2026, and if he comes out of the gate like his teammate Luke Keaschall did, he will skyrocket up these rankings.

9. Samuel Basallo, C, Orioles

The Orioles’ top prospect debuted in August and struggled over 31 games, hitting .165/.229/.330 with four home runs. Despite some early bumps in the road, Basallo still projects as a perennial top-five fantasy catcher. Basallo has prodigious power to all parts of the park. He’s not an all-or-nothing power hitter based on his minor league track record, however, as he’s hit .283/.366/.498 with a 21% strikeout rate and 11.1% walk rate. Basallo will need to rein in his swing-happy approach in 2026 to get results, because his 40.8% o-swing is certainly too high for success. You’re buying into the immense power that yielded 79 career minor league home runs before his 21st birthday.

10. Max Clark, OF, Tigers

The 20-year-old Clark had a 148 wRC+ across two levels in 2025 with 14 home runs and 19 stolen bases, ending up in Double-A. With excellent swing decisions, bat-to-ball skills and the ability to play solid outfield defense, Clark should be a 20-20 threat with above-average rates on a regular basis. He should get some time in Detroit as soon as the first half of 2026.

11. Edward Florentino, OF, Pirates

One of the biggest prospect breakouts of 2025, the 18-year-old Florentino showed power and speed—nabbing the top spot in RoboScout’s Low-A hitter rankings. Under the hood, Florentino shows plus contact and in-zone contact rates, a 104 mph 90th-percentile exit velocity and good swing decisions. At peak, he could be a .270/.350 hitter with 25-30 home run power and 25 stolen bases.

12. Aidan Miller, SS, Phillies

Miller took a little while to get going in 2025, but he ended the season on a tear, hitting .356/.491/.607 over his final 36 games. Miller showed more speed than at any other point in his career and is now a potential 30-plus stolen base threat when he reaches the majors. This is particularly interesting for fantasy, because Miller has a bucket of useful fantasy tools. He shows plus raw power with a 106.3 mph 90th percentile EV, and his contact skills are also strong with a 16.8% zone whiff and 17% chase rate. Miller shows the ability to impact batting average, OBP, power and speed totals in a positive way in the very near future. He could potentially debut this summer.

13. Leo De Vries, SS, Athletics

The trio of Made, Walcott and De Vries might forever be tied together as the prodigious group of premier shortstops matriculates to the majors. De Vries, though he’s ranked third in the trio for fantasy, is every bit the equal in real-life terms. His offensive identity is more heavily tied to his plus-plus hit tool and nifty barrel work than raw power and speed like Made and Walcott. De Vries holds his own with plus bat-to-ball skills, a good balance of patience and aggression at the plate and lofty launch angles. His body still has remaining strength projection that, when it hits, should allow him to get to above-average power with regularity. However, at present, his raw power is fringy (101.6 mph 90th percentile EV). It will take a few more years for it all to come together, but De Vries is worth the wait.

14. Sebastian Walcott, SS, Rangers

Walcott has all the tools to be a potential superstar, but he hasn’t put together a loud season that would boost him to the top of prospect rankings. He’s always been extremely young for every level he’s played at. In 2025, he spent all year with Double-A Frisco at 19 years old. Walcott was over four years younger than the average age of competition in the Texas League and still produced a 110 wRC+. It might take a little bit longer for everything to gel, but with plus raw power, plus speed and improving plate skill, Walcott has the tools to be a five-category fantasy star.

15. Carson Benge, OF, Mets

After the Mets traded Brandon Nimmo for Marcus Semien, the 2024 first-round draft pick out of Oklahoma State has been a popular target in redraft leagues. Public projections have him as a near-average bat who should put up 15 home runs and 15 stolen bases over 600 plate appearances.

16. Caleb Bonemer, SS, White Sox

There’s a lot of Gunnar Henderson in Caleb Bonemer, as he shows similar athleticism, power and overall skills. The 2024 second-rounder hit the Carolina League like a wrecking ball in 2025, slashing .281/.400/.458 with 10 home runs and 27 stolen bases across 96 games. Bonemer earned a late-season callup to High-A and held his own over 11 games, hitting .278/.409/.611. There’s potential for above-average hitting ability, 25-plus home run power and mid-teens stolen bases from an everyday infielder. Bonemer is a name that will be climbing lists.

17. Bryce Rainer, SS, Tigers

A dislocated right shoulder and subsequent surgery ended Rainer’s debut season after 35 games. During that time, the 2024 No. 11 pick showed advanced hitting ability with on-base skills and plus power. Rainer’s 108 mph 90th percentile EV is an eye-popping figure for a teenager and hints at 30-plus home run upside at peak. He’s likely to have some swing-and-miss in his game, but will offset it by getting on base at a high rate. Rainer is a good runner now, but will likely slow down as he matures. He fits into the mold of a power-hitting middle infielder with strong hitting traits.

18. Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Giants

A perennial RoboScout favorite, the lefthanded-hitting slugger debuted late in 2025 but struggled with a .476 OPS over 37 plate appearances. The Giants’ acquisition of Rafael Devers and the offense-suppressive confines of Oracle Park create some headwinds, but Eldridge still enters his age-21 season having produced top-of-the-league exit velocities in his brief debut. That’s what we expected given his 108 mph 90th percentile exit velocity and double-plus barrel rates in the minors last year. At peak, he will routinely put up 30-ish home run seasons—just maybe not next year.

19. Sal Stewart, 1B, Reds

Stewart has strong Vinnie Pasquantino vibes thanks to a combination of hitting and above-average power. Their Double-A output, for example, was nearly identical. That’s good for Stewart considering he was two years younger than Pasquantino. At peak, RoboScout sees both as having a similar .280/.355/25-homer projection. Heading into his age-22 season in a hitter’s park, Stewart may find himself on more of a .270 batting average/20-homer pace, but if you can get five years of that as a floor with a peak of 2025 Pasquantino, we might have him ranked too low.

20. Rainiel Rodriguez, C, Cardinals

The Cardinals’ power-hitting teenager is the heir apparent to Samuel Basallo for the title of the best hitting catcher in the minors. The 2024 Dominican Summer League standout made his stateside debut in 2025, hitting .373/.513/.831 over 20 complex league games and earned promotion to Palm Beach after a month. Rodriguez proceeded to post an .870 OPS over 60 games with the Cardinals’ Low-A affiliate before earning a late-season promotion to High-A Peoria. Rodriguez combines average bat-to-ball skills with above-average swing decisions, plus raw power and very good angles on contact. It’s a fully optimized power-hitting profile at 18 years old and a bat that will play even if he moves off catcher.

21. Josue De Paula, OF, Dodgers

A 60-hit, 60-power bat, De Paula should be a middle-of-the-lineup masher for the Dodgers. In 2025, De Paula made excellent swing decisions, rarely offering at pitches out of the zone while also producing a 90th percentile exit velocity north of 105 mph for the second year as a row, this time ending the year as a 20-year-old in Double-A. Although his defense could use some work, he should be an on-base machine with 25-homer power and 15-plus steals once he cracks the lineup.

22. Eduardo Quintero, OF, Dodgers

The Dodgers’ top prospect for 2026, Quintero should be an everyday center fielder who has above-average grades across all his tools. Based on his 2025 alone, RoboScout projects him at peak to be a .270/.370 bat who could hit 25 homers and steal 20 bases. In any other organization, he would be ranked higher. But with a championship lineup in Los Angeles, barring a trade, it’s difficult to see a clear path for him.

23. Luis Peña, SS, Brewers

Jesus Made’s partner in crime blows up fantasy-based models like RoboScout because he makes lots of contact while consistently finding the barrel. Peña hit .270/.335/.422 with nine home runs and 44 stolen bases last year. His combination of hitting ability, power and speed rivals Made’s, but overall, he lacks the same power and on-base skills.

24. Thomas White, SP, Marlins

One of baseball’s top pitching prospects, White fits the archetype of a big-stuff lefthander, a profile that is currently thriving in MLB. White still needs to further hone his command this season, but he features multiple plus pitches that generate whiffs and keep hitters uncomfortable in the batter’s box.

25. Bubba Chandler, SP, Pirates

The Pirates are chock-full of talented pitching. While Paul Skenes leads the rotation, expectations are lofty for Chandler. The power righthander made his MLB debut in 2025 and showed command, premium stuff and an ability to generate groundballs. Chandler is likely to secure a spot in the Pirates’ rotation in 2026, and it is possible the team around him is the best the Pirates have fielded in a decade.
