After falling just short of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series, the Toronto Blue Jays have bolstered their roster this offseason to push them over the hump.
Toronto loaded up its roster this offseason, making big splashes with the signings of Dylan Cease and Kazuma Okamoto. The Blue Jays also signed Cody Ponce and Tyler Rogers to further improve their pitching staff, but will still be giving internal options the chance to prove themselves in spring training.
One player who will be trying to prove himself in spring training is Nate Garkow after the Blue Jays invited the 28-year-old reliever to spring training, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca.

“Righty reliever Nate Garkow getting an invite to big-league camp with the Blue Jays,” Davidi shared in a post to X on Friday. “The 28-year-old struck out 86 batters in 53.2 innings last year between high-A Vancouver and double-A New Hampshire.”
Garkow split his time between High-A Vancouver and Double-A New Hampshire this season in the Blue Jays farm system. The right-handed hurler struggled early on in the season in Vancouver, posting a gaudy 7.56 ERA, but was promoted after a couple strong performances. Garkow excelled in New Hampshire, posting a 1.22 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 29 appearances to close out the season.
Though it’s likely that Garkow will still open the 2026 season in the minor leagues, the 28-year-old will get a chance to prove himself in front of the Blue Jays’ pitching staff during spring training.
