(WGXA) — Middle Georgia native and former Atlanta Braves World Series winner, Terrance Gore, died at the age of 34.

Major League Baseball (MLB) announced Gore’s death on social media on Saturday, stating they were both “shocked and saddened ” to learn of the “speedy outfielder’s” passing.

“A member of the back-to-back AL champion and 2015 World Series champion Kansas City Royals, Gore played eight Major League seasons in all from 2014-2022. He also appeared for the Cubs, Dodgers, Braves, and Mets.””The speedy outfielder and pinch-running specialist stole 43 bases in his regular season career while only being caught nine times. He was 5-for-6 in Postseason stolen base attempts and stole 324 bases in 11 Minor League seasons.”

Born in Macon, the 34-year-old passed away due to unexpected complications from a procedure, according to a report from WSB-TV.

The Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals also took to social media to share their condolences.

The Middle Georgia native was a part of eight MLB seasons after debuting with the Kansas City Royals in 2014, according to an MLB report. He appeared in a total of 112 games, winning a World Series ring with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020 and the Atlanta Braves in 2021.

Gore is survived by his wife, Britney, and their three children, who live in Panama City, Fla., where the 34-year-old was working as a speed and baseball trainer while coaching his son’s baseball team, according to MLB.
