THE Pittsburgh Pirates fan who fell onto the field at PNC Park as sustained multiple serious injuries.
Kavan Markwood, 20, tumbled over the Roberto Clemente wall in right field and fell 21 feet onto the field.

Markwood was in critical condition when he was carted off the field and rushed to the hospital.
After arriving at the hospital, it was determined that he suffered a broken neck, back, and collarbone.
Markwood has since taken his first steps since he accident, the organizer of his GoFundMe, Jennifer Phillips, wrote in an update.
“He still has a long way to go – he’s dealing with a broken neck, clavicle, and back so there are plenty of obstacles ahead,” she said.
Markwood is reportedly showing signs of “real strength” in his recovery.
“We’re staying hopeful for a smooth recovery,” Phillips wrote.
“This will also require plenty of rest and following instructions from the great doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital.”
The GoFundMe in support of Markwood’s recovery has surpassed $43,000 as of Tuesday morning, nearly 90 percent of its goal.
Markwood fell over the right field wall during Wednesday’s game between the Pirates and Chicago Cubs.
Video showed him slipping over the three-foot railing while celebrating an Andrew McCutchen double.

Members of the Pirates could be seen in the dugout pointing at Markwood in right field before the game was paused.
Medical personnel rushed to his aid and players took a knee for around 10 minutes.
McCutchen was visibly shaken by what took place and shared his support for Markwood on X after the game.
“Truly hate what happened tonight,” he said.
“Cant help but think about that guy, his family and friends. I pray tonight for him.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton also commented on the “extremely unfortunate” accident following the gme.
“Even though its 350 feet away or whatever it is, the fact of how it went down and then laying motionless while a play’s going on,” he said.
“[Cubs manager] Craig [Counsell] saw it, I saw it, we both got out there, I think the umpires saw it unfortunately because of the way the ball kicked.”
