Call me a baseball purist, but I do not like interleague play. Were I the commissioner for a week, the first thing that would go is interleague play. By this point, the novelty has worn off. Part of keeping the leagues separated was because of the DH, of course, but there was something cool about not seeing an American League team until either the All-Star Game or the World Series. The proliferation of baseball on your television screen and on social media means that you have multiple avenues of being able to see American League stars if you desire. There doesn’t have to be an American League team invading Citizens Bank Park every other week so that we are blessed with the chance of seeing the Kansas City Royals in some random weekday series in July.
Give me more of the old school!
Which brings us to our question of the day: what do you think of the balanced schedule, where everyone plays everyone? Baseball isn’t like football or basketball or hockey, so trying to be like to them in terms of the schedule just still feels wrong, even these so many years later after its debut.
