Sitting in Mr Bird’s classroom at Romulus (Michigan) Junior High School , we listened to this game on a transistor radio.
Earlier when the Tigers were down games 3 to 1, Mr Bird said it was “time to use reverse psychology.” Then he started the class cheering for the Cardinals. “Let’s Go Cards!”
We switched that around with Mickey on the mound for game 7. He was our guy.
