The Houston Astros lost their perch at the top of the American League West after missing out on a playoff spot for the first time since 2016. They are in a rebuild mode with only a handful of members remaining from the 2022 World Series-winning roster. Astros general manager Dana Brown is keen to add more young talent via the trade route to continue developing the team.
According to Chandler Rome of The Athletic, the Houston Astros are presently receiving strong interest from as many as five organizations regarding a trade deal for Isaac Paredes. Rome said there are multiple players in discussion for a move away from Houston. However, Paredes is the only one who is getting increasingly more attention.
“The talks have intensified. There appears to be some pretty direct motivation,” Rome said on the Crush Territory City podcast. “I’ve only heard Isaac Paredes being talked about as among those that are gaining momentum. He’s the one that I hear has been sought after the most. I’ve heard as many as five teams have shown legitimate and aggressive interest in Isaac Paredes.”
