MILWAUKEE — The Brewers will have a new television and streaming home this year. The announced Monday that games will now be produced and distributed by Major League Baseball.
The league will make games available to in-market fans on cable and satellite TV as well as online through MLB.TV. Games had previously been broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network, whose parent company Main Street Sports is facing serious financial issues.
“Moving to MLB’s platform marks an exciting evolution for how our fans experience Brewers baseball away from the ballpark,” team president of business operations Rick Schlesinger said. “The consistency and quality of that experience in many ways will be enhanced.”
A Brewers streaming subscription through MLB.com and the MLB app will go on sale later this month. The Brewers are on of multiple MLB teams who have shifted away from regional sports networks to MLB’s broadcasting platforms in recent years.
