He had a lifetime batting average of .294, where he recorded 356 home runs and 1,144 RBIs in his career.During that time, the Reds went to the playoffs on four separate occasions in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2020. The Reds also twice finished as divisional champions in 2010 and 2012.His time in Cincinnati would later come to an end after the 2023 season, however, after the team declined his 2024 contract option. Votto then would go on to sign with the Toronto Blue Jays, but never made an appearance on the field as a Blue Jay due to persistent injury. Despite this, he did play some games with the Blue Jays’ Triple-A minor league affiliate team, the Buffalo Bisons. As the season came to a close, Votto opted to retire from baseball altogether.NBC will be Votto’s first broadcasting job after retirement from the league.
