Earlier this year, Baseball America presented the Top 30 White Sox Prospects for 2026. Now, we’re digging even deeper to highlight prospects who just missed making the cut but still have the potential for breakout seasons or future MLB careers.

Here are the next 10 players to know in the White Sox system beyond their Top 30. You can find the complete index of players who just missed their teams’ respective lists here.

31. Tanner Murray, SS

Murray uses his good hands to generate above-average exit velocities, registering a max exit velocity north of 112 mph in 2025, and he’ll flash notable pullside power. But he doesn’t walk much, and his approach was tested at Triple-A, where he chased nearly a third of the time, trading some average for power after hitting .290 in Double-A in 2024. Defensively, he has a plus throwing arm and good reflexes. He can handle shortstop, second base and third base, and he also saw some time at all three outfield spots.

32. Tyler Schweitzer, LHP

The Ball State product excelled at Double-A Birmingham, showing improved 93 mph fastball velocity to go with his Swiss Army knife of pitches. His stint at Triple-A Charlotte was more challenging and required a return to Birmingham. He profiles as a sixth starter/long reliever type.

33. Jose Mendoza, C

One of the top hitters on the DSL White Sox, Mendoza produced a .333/.410/.407 line but must add strength and elevate the ball more consistently after posting a 65.3% groundball rate.

34. Samuel Zavala, OF

The system’s top defensive outfielder, Zavala has not progressed offensively since his strong 2022 and 2023 Low-A campaigns in the Padres system.

35. Nick McLain, OF

The third McLain brother in pro ball, injuries have limited Nick to just 13 games since being drafted in the third round in 2023 out of Arizona State. Nonetheless, he has drawn encouraging reviews internally when healthy.

36. Casey Saucke, OF

The 2024 fourth-rounder from Virginia opened his career with promise before missing nearly all of 2025 after Tommy John surgery.

37. Colby Shelton, SS

Chicago’s sixth-round pick in 2025, Shelton was coming off a junior season at Florida when he slashed .377/.458/.606 with an 11.8% strikeout rate. He began his pro career with 27 games at Low-A Kannapolis.

38. Christian Gonzalez, OF

The Venezuela native had a strong first season stateside with an impressive .407/.511/.1.076 line in the Arizona Complex League. He projects as a corner outfielder with good bat-to-ball skills but with limited impact.

39. Marcelo Alcala, OF

Alcala showed flashes amid rawness in the Arizona Complex League in 2025. His plus speed gives him a chance to stick in center field, but he needs to improve his reads and instincts. He has some power but will need to make better swing decisions.

40. Juan Carela, RHP

The former Yankees prospect joined the caravan of White Sox pitchers who needed Tommy John surgery early in 2025. He fits best in relief once healthy, where he can throw four pitches for strikes including a pair of 93 mph fastballs.
