Earlier this year, Baseball America presented the Top 30 Rangers Prospects for 2026. Now, we’re digging even deeper to highlight prospects who just missed making the cut but still have the potential for breakout seasons or future MLB careers.
Here are the next 10 players to know in the Rangers system beyond their Top 30. You can find the complete index of players who just missed their teams’ respective lists here.
31. Mason McConnaughey, RHP
McConnaughey’s final college season was cut short by an elbow injury, but when healthy he showed a fastball up to 95 mph, a short, tight slider and a mid-80s changeup with plenty of fade. His stuff and projection could make him worth the wait.
32. Marco Argudin, OF
An older signee in the 2025 international class, the 20-year-old Argudin tore up the Dominican Summer League in his pro debut. He’s a plus runner with a strong throwing arm and showed strong bat-to-ball skills in the DSL. He needs to show a bit more thump, but he’s intriguing as a deep sleeper.
33. Gavin Collyer, RHP
Collyer has big-time stuff but needs to find the strike zone more often. He can bring his fastball up to 99 mph and backs it with a sweeper and cutter that draw plenty of whiffs. After the year, he re-signed with the Rangers as a minor league free agent.
34. Jesus Chavez, OF
Signed on Jan. 15, 2026, Chavez is a strong, physical Venezuelan outfielder who produced well during the U15 World Cup. He has an advanced approach for his age, solid bat-to-ball skills and a knack for finding the barrel. He’ll begin his career in the Dominican Summer League.
35. Josh Trentadue, LHP
After a dedicated offseason, Trentadue entered 2025 with amplified stuff. The results showed up in a dominant year at High-A, though a short stint at Double-A showed the need for further command refinement.
36. Owen Proksch, LHP
After three solid seasons at Duke, Proksch was taken by Texas in the ninth round of the 2025 draft. He brings his fastball up to 94 mph and buttresses it with a nasty sweeper and a developing changeup. He’ll need the changeup to come forth if he is to stay on a starter’s track.
37. Marc Church, RHP
Church dealt with injuries and ineffectiveness during a 2025 season that saw him get into five games in the big leagues. At his best, he has a nasty mix of fastballs, sliders and changeups, but he needs to find the strike zone far more often. A return to health in 2026 should aid in that quest.
38. Evan Siary, RHP
Siary moved into Mississippi State’s rotation in 2025 and performed well enough to get the Rangers to take him in the ninth round. He has a funky delivery, a low release height and a pair of breaking balls that should help counter a fastball that sits in the low 90s. He has good feel for the zone and could be an interesting developmental flyer.
39. Santiago Ramirez, C
Ramirez was one of the best catchers from Venezuela—a traditional hotbed for the position—available during the international signing period that opened on Jan. 15, 2026. He’s got strong hands, a strong body and a solid track record in game action. He’ll have to work to stick behind the plate, but if he can, his offensive gifts will make him valuable.
40. Sebastian Baquera, C
Despite a poor offensive season in the Arizona Complex League, Baquera caught scouts’ eyes thanks to a strong defensive profile. He sports plus arm strength, is a strong receiver and blocker and handles his pitchers well.
