Back in late January, a pair of Riverview Community High School seniors and baseball players signed their respective national letters of intent together.
Teammates Jameson Gelineau and Evan Minnick are slated to continue their academic and baseball-playing careers at Henry Ford College next school year.
Arguably Riverview’s most important pieces come the upcoming spring season, Gelineau and Minnick were key pieces for a Pirates team that finished the 2025 season strong and took home a district championship in Division 2.
Gelineau was the unquestioned No. 1 pitching option for Riverview and head coach Chris Gajewski last season. He earned all-Huron League and second-team all-News-Herald honors after logging a sub-2.00 ERA while averaging over a strikeout per inning (85 K in 70 IP).
Minnick meanwhile played several positions in the infield for Riverview, including at times the battery mate for Gajewski at catcher. He finished as an all-area honorable mention after posting a batting average just shy of a .300 with a .753 OPS and a team-best 15 runs batted in.
