MILWAUKEE — The Brewers are sending infielder Caleb Durbin to the Red Sox for left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison, the team announced on Monday.

Also included in the trade are infielders Andrew Monasterio and Anthony Siegler, who will be sent to Boston for lefthanded pitcher Shane Drohan and infielder David Hamilton.

Durbin placed third for the NL Rookie of the Year award and batted .256 with 11 HR, 53 RBI and 18 SB in 136 games with the Brewers last season. Harrison debuted in the Majors in 2023, touting a 4.39 ERA across 42 outings. He was a top prospect in the Giants organization when he started the 2024 season. He had been traded from the Giants to the Red Socks with three other players last June in a deal that sent infielder Rafael Devers to San Francisco.

“Kyle Harrison provides an exciting young left-handed arm to our starting rotation options this season,” said Brewers President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold. “At just 24, he already has valuable Major League experience under his belt, and we look forward to watching him progress as a Brewer.”

Arnold also expressed excitement for the other two players included in the trade.

Drohan spent most of his Minor League career with the Red Sox, recording 472 career strikeouts in 411.2 innings. Hamilton is returning to Milwaukee, having been selected in the eighth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft from the University of Texas. He was traded to Boston in December 2021 and made his Major League debut in 2023 there.

“Shane is another left-handed arm who has shown strikeout ability over his Minor League career and is a candidate to contribute to the Major League rotation this season. David brings to us a versatile infielder and quality defender up the middle who has shown the ability at the big-league level to impact games with his speed,” he said in a release.
