Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins are bringing back a familiar face, signing veteran infielder Gio Urshela to a minor league contract, the team announced Tuesday.

The deal includes an invitation to Spring Training, giving Urshela an opportunity to earn a spot on the Twins’ roster ahead of the 2026 season.

Urshela, 33, previously played for Minnesota during the 2022 season. He returns to the organization after spending 2025 with the Oakland Athletics, where he struggled at the plate, batting just .238 with zero home runs and 20 RBIs.
