The Milwaukee Brewers are coming off a solid season where they were crowned NL Central division champs for the third-sonsecutive season, making the postseason. They ended up playing their division rivals, the Chicago Cubs, in the NLDS, ending their season.

However, they would face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS, and they just did not have the juice to keep up with the Blue Crew.

All in all, it was a great season, but fans might want to prepare themselves for a tough road ahead.

Brewers fans may want to ignore this Brice Turang prediction

The Brewers will come into the new season without their ace, Freddy Peralta. He was traded to the New York Mets in exchange for Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat.

On top of that, the Cubs just had a monster offseason. They made multiple big splashes that, on paper, give them an edge over the Brewers.

So, Milwaukee’s success will come down to some guys needing to step up. One player who stepped up in a big way last season was Brice Turang.

Across 156 games, he hit .288/.359/.435 with a career-high 18 home runs and a career-high 81 runs batted in.

However, Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter suggests that it could be tough for the slugger to replicate those numbers in 2026.

“Turang had a combined 13 home runs in 1,067 plate appearances during his first two seasons in the majors, so the 18-homer pop is the biggest eyebrow-raiser in his stat line, but the bigger problem might be his strikeout rate spiking from 17.0 to 22.8 percent. With middling bat speed there’s a good chance the over-the-fence production will regress, and selling out for more power could end up having the opposite effect going forward.”

With an increased strikeout rate and below-average bat speed, Reuter does not believe that Turang will have big power numbers. Those home runs will likely have to come off the bat of guys like Andrew Vaughn, William Contreras, and Christian Yelich.
