Zac Gallen is the top remaining free agent, especially in the starting pitching market, who still remains unsigned thus far. The demand for the 30-year-old right-hander certainly took a big hit after his subpar campaign last year. Nevertheless, Gallen will generate a lot of interest for teams that want to add another starter before spring training gets underway.

According to MLB insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Zac Gallen is currently on the radar for as many as four MLB organizations. He reported that the San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, and his old team, the Arizona Diamondbacks, are all keen to have him on their starting rotation for the 2026 season.

“Talks are heating up for starter Zac Gallen, the best remaining free agent on the market,” Hightengale posted via X on Tuesday. “Teams showing the most interest: San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Arizona Diamondbacks.”
