The Miami Marlins pitchers and catchers reported to spring training and were delighted to see updated facilities.The team is calling it “Marlins Academy Jupiter.” It’s part of the $140 million renovation to Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and the adjoining practice facilities for the Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals. Roger Dean was built in 1998 but has lagged behind the times prior to this glow up that now positions the Marlins and Cardinals to have some of the best facilities in major league baseball.”It’s incredible, the new weight room and training room. It’s incredibly nice and my favorite part for sure,” said Marlins pitcher Braxton Garrett.Players say the amenities and sports performance resources they have in the offseason are now met at this team facility.”In the offseason, everyone has new toys they are working out with and training with, and now we have all that stuff in the weight room. You don’t have to fine-tune your routine anymore, you can just roll right into spring what you were doing all offseason. It’s a big help,” said pitcher Anthony Bender.The organization is hoping the facilities and amenities translate into more wins. “A lot of work and effort went into this from when spring training ended last year, and this is just phase one from a project that will provide a first-class environment facility for our players to improve on and off the field,” said Marlins manager Clayton McCullough
