KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Kris Bubic has picked up his first win of the year off the field.
According to a report from MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, Bubic won his arbitration hearing against the Royals.
By winning the hearing, the 2025 American League All-Star will make $6.15 million during the 2026 season. That’s $1 million more than the $5.15 million the Royals filed for, according to Feinsand.
Bubic, 28, enters his seventh season with the Royals in 2026. Last year, he went 8-7 with a career-best 2.55 earned run average in 20 starts.
He didn’t pitch in August or September of last year after being placed on the injured list with a left rotator cuff strain.
The former 2018 first-round pick of the Royals is part of a Kansas City rotation that was among the best in baseball in 2025.
Originally, the Royals were set to go to arbitration against Bubic and first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino, but Pasquantino and the club agreed on a two-year contract on Jan. 30.
