The NCAA Baseball Championship bracket is fully revealed with Ole Miss earning the No. 10 seed overall and hosting three opponents this weekend in Oxford.
This is the 11th time Oxford has been selected to host an NCAA Regional and the first time since 2021. Ole Miss (40-19) just finished the SEC Tournament as the runner-up to champion Vanderbilt who was selected as the No. 1 overall seed.
Home field advantage is obviously huge in the postseason, but the Rebels have some stout competition coming into Swayze Field. First up is four seed Murray State (39-13) who Ole Miss beat in extra innings on March 5 by a score of 8-7. The Racers are a legit threat to put a lot of runs on the board, and its likely the Rebels will have to use ace Hunter Elliott to secure the Friday win.
In the two spot, Ole Miss welcomes Georgia Tech (40-17) from the ACC. There is zero doubt this team felt snubbed by the tournament committee after it finished the regular season first in its conference and compiled a 40-win season.
Instead of hosting, the Yellow Jackets are sent on the road and will face three seed Western Kentucky (46-12). The Hilltoppers won the Conference USA tournament, but it ran up a 30-3 home record during the regular season. Strangely enough, WKU lost early on in the season to Murray State, 2-1.
Lots of offense will be coming to the Oxford Regional, and there will be a sold out crowd undoubtedly when Ole Miss hits the field every game it plays.
The Rebels regional is paired with the Athens Regional and the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs. If both one seeds advance, Ole Miss would travel to Athens for a Super Regional with the winner heading to Omaha for the College World Series.
But first, its getting through this pretty damn loaded regional. If you can’t get tickets, games will be streamed on ESPN+ on Friday.
