With the wind blowing out at Wrigley Field, the Houston Astros trounce the Chicago Cubs 7-4. Rusty Staub, Joe Morgan, Jim Wynn and Ron Davis all hit homers for the Astros as part of the win. At one point, Astros hitter John Bateman, after getting hit by a pitch, was allowed to stay in the box and keep trying.

2014 – Rookie Springer shows off

As just a rookie, Astros new center fielder George Springer had his first big game against the Kansas City Royals, smacking four hits and picking up five runs in a 9-2 win. One of these hits includes his fourth home run in three games, giving life into a team that currently sat at 17-32.
