PORT ST. LUCIE — Francisco Alvarez hadn’t received an opportunity to compare battle wounds with Francisco Lindor as of Thursday afternoon, but the Mets catcher welcomes the opportunity.
“I am just waiting to see [Lindor] and give him a big hug and talk a little bit about it,” Alvarez told The Post.
“It” refers to the hamate bone surgery that Lindor underwent Wednesday on his left hand, after a stress reaction was diagnosed.
Lindor is facing a six-week recovery that has left in question whether he will be ready for Opening Day.
