CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rays are making a difference beyond the baseball field by actively engaging with communities in Charlotte County. From supporting youth baseball to aiding in hurricane relief efforts, the Rays are committed to impacting lives year-round.
The Rays Youth Jersey Program has provided jerseys and hats to more than 120,000 young players and coaches since 2014. This support has saved local leagues millions of dollars, allowing those funds to be reinvested into the programs.
When disaster strikes, the Rays step up with significant contributions. They have donated nearly $1 million in hurricane relief efforts in Charlotte County, with staff members volunteering their time on the ground.
“I mean, they’re part of who we are, right? They help you continue to grow, right? Yet they’re able to carry that mission beyond just what’s, what’s out here and what’s happening on the field for us as well,” said Harold Craw, senior vice president of community engagement.
Craw emphasized the joy and excitement that comes with the start of spring training, likening it to the first day of school when friends reunite, and the goosebumps never fade.
