iHeartMedia Tampa Bay is expanding both its sports and Spanish-language offerings with the launch of “95.7 WDAE, Tampa Bay’s Sports Radio,” and the rebrand of its Latin format as “Rumba 95.3 & 102.9,” effective Monday, Feb. 23.

The move gives heritage sports outlet WDAE a major FM boost, adding the 100,000-watt signal at 95.7 FM WRUB to complement its longtime home on 620 AM, where it has aired since 1999. The expanded reach strengthens WDAE’s position as a go-to destination for local and national sports talk while continuing as the flagship radio home of the Tampa Bay Rays and the radio outlet for Florida Gators football and basketball. The station also delivers extensive coverage of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning and USF Bulls.

“Expanding WDAE’s heritage brand strengthens our long-standing broadcast and marketing partnerships with the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers, Lightning, Florida Gators and USF Bulls,” said Russell Robertson, Market President for iHeartMedia Tampa Bay. “This evolution also reflects our continued commitment to serving Tampa Bay listeners across multiple platforms.”

“I am beyond excited for Tampa Bay sports fans,” added WDAE PD Nick Wize. “This is a championship market, and we’re delivering a strong, engaging lineup that brings fans closer to the teams and conversations they care about most.”

WDAE’s weekday schedule begins with “The Pat & Aaron Show” (6-9am), followed by “The Dan Patrick Show” (9am-noon), “The Nick Wize Show” (noon-2pm) and “The Drive with Tom Krasniqi” (2-6pm). Evenings include “Tampa Bay Sports” (6-7pm), “The Odd Couple with Rob Parker & Kelvin Washington” (7-10pm), “The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon” (10pm-2am) and “The Ben Maller Show” (2-6am).

Meanwhile, the Spanish-language CHR programming previously heard on WRUB shifts to a pair of FM translators – the Pinellas Park-licensed W237CW at 95.3 and the Tampa-licensed W275AZ at 102.9 under the new brand Rumba 95.3 & 102.9. The station will continue featuring contemporary Latin hits, including Reggaetón, Urban Pop, Bachata and Salsa.

The 95.3 signal previously simulcast WDAE and the 102.9 signal carried country “US 103.5” WFUS.

“Rumba 95.3 and 102.9 will continue to deliver a vibrant, high-energy music mix tailored to Tampa Bay’s Latino community,” said P.J. Gonzalez, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartLatino. “With Enrique Santos anchoring mornings, along with standout local talent including Sarykarmen Rivera and Flip Rios, Rumba offers engaging entertainment throughout the day for Spanish-speaking listeners.”
