San Antonio, Texas — Tonight, we are learning that the Texas Rangers raided a district attorney’s office on the same day they searched the Zavala County Sheriff’s office.

Sources said the office of District Attorney Robert Serna, who serves Dimmit, Maverick, and Zavala counties, was served with a warrant seeking the confiscation of cellphones and other items.

Authorities have not said why the searches were carried out.

We contacted the Texas Attorney General’s Office for details, but have not received a response as of tonight. We have also left messages with the Zavala County Sheriff and the Office of the District Attorney.

We have also confirmed that the home of a Crystal City elections consultant was searched as part of the same investigation.
