MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins lit their stadium, Target Field in Minneapolis, blue and yellow Friday night in honor of the Iowa Lakes Community College baseball player who was killed in a bus crash earlier this week.

19-year-old Carter Johnson of Rapid City, South Dakota, was killed in the crash as he and his teammates were traveling to Arkansas to play a series of games against the North Arkansas Pioneers.

32 others onboard the bus were injured and taken to various local hospitals. Six occupants in an Iowa Lakes van were not involved in the accident.

On Saturday, the Minnesota Twins posted a photo on Facebook of Target Field glowing blue and yellow alongside the following message:

“Last night we lit our stadium in blue and yellow in honor of Carter Johnson and the entire Iowa Lakes Community College baseball team following their tragic bus accident”

As the Iowa Lakes community continues to mourn, people wore blue and yellow in honor of Carter on Friday as well, rallying together in a time of heartbreak.
