ST. LOUIS – The parent company of FanDuel Sports Network, the former television partner of the St. Louis Cardinals, is expected to close its Ballpark Village office and lay off 25 workers, according to newly-filed Missouri state documents.

Main Street Sports Group issued a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice on Friday, informing state officials that its St. Louis office is preparing to close by April 14 and proceed with 25 layoffs.

“The entire facility will close, including remote workers. This action is expected to be permanent,” said Meredith Powers, FanDuel Sports Network Chief Human Resources Officer, in a letter to St. Louis government officials on Friday over the WARN notice.

The letter indicated layoffs across multiple departments, including production, marketing, directing, engineering and sales.

Following the WARN notice, this statement was shared with FOX 2 on behalf of Main Street Sports Group CEO David Preschlack:

“FanDuel Sports Network is continuing to broadcast NBA and NHL games as we engage in discussions with our partners about our go-forward plans. While final decisions have not been made, we have issued WARN notices to employees, as required by law, in connection with potential workforce impacts that could occur in the coming months. Any and all aspects of the WARN notices can be revoked at any time. We remain committed to transparency and fair treatment of our employees.”

Ahead of the 2026 season, the Cardinals shifted their local broadcast rights from FanDuel Sports Network to a Major League Baseball-led streaming service through MLB.TV. The move comes as Main Street Sports Group faces ongoing financial uncertainties, including the possibility of filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

A Cardinals spokesperson previously told FOX 2 that the franchise earned around $60 million annually under its previous regional TV deal. However, with the move to MLB.TV, that figure is now projected to drop by around $20 million, bringing this year’s projected television revenue to around $40 million.

The timing of Friday’s WARN notice is not only notable for the Cardinals. FanDuel Sports Network is still scheduled to broadcast games for the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Billikens men’s basketball team through the remainder of their regular season. The final Blues broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network this season is set for April 13, one day before the planned layoffs would take effect.
