New infielder Murakami Munetaka (26) of the Chicago White Sox performed “Bide Praise Theory.”

Murakami had an interview in Glendale, Arizona, USA, where the club’s spring camp is underway on the 14th local time. It was the first time to face the media since joining the camp.

According to “Sankei Sports,” Murakami gave witty answers in the interview, which drew more than 50 reporters.

The most eye-catching thing was the bidet installed in the clubhouse of the home stadium.

He said, “I tend to go to the bathroom a little often. When I played, I wanted to play comfortably without worrying about the stomachache. I thought it would be nice to put it here because it’s often used in Japan. I told my agent about what I wanted,” he said, explaining why he asked his team to install bidets.

Unfortunately, there is no bidet installed in Camelback Ranch Glendale, the home of the spring camp. He explained that he is carrying a portable bidet to prepare for this.

He continued, “I’m telling my colleagues about how good Bidet is. I think it’s also good for the environment. We are using too much tissue in the bathroom,” he said, making the reporters laugh.

Murakami, who hit 265 home runs in eight seasons in the Japanese professional baseball league, signed with the White Sox for two years and $34 million ahead of this season.
